Description

Changeworks delivers energy advice and information that can help people stay warm at home and save on their energy bills. Through this project, we’re coming along to local groups and running a presentation/Q&A session with participants to go through some of the main ways people can improve their energy use at home. We can share information and advice related to draughtproofing, smart meters, rights and support from suppliers, using heating and hot water systems, top energy saving tips, and more. We also have some materials available for people to take away or read online later if they’re looking for more information on a particular topic.

In addition to the workshop, we can offer some additional support to those who need it! We can offer free warm packs containing LED lightbulbs, draughtproofing strips, and reflective radiator sheets to support households to stay warmer at home. We also bring along wellbeing items such as shampoos, toothbrushes and toothpaste to distribute to those who attend the event. Additional support we can also offer are referrals onto Home Energy Scotland for further support and access to the Warmer Homes Scotland scheme as well as referrals to our Affordable Warmth Advisor at Changeworks to offer 1-1 advocacy fuel debt support for households in fuel debt. Referrals will need to be completed with a Changeworks officer or Changeworks volunteer to access these further support routes.
